Introduction

Manystudieshavebeenundertakentounderstandthenonlinearityinactivedevicemodeling,circuitandsystemsimulation,andnewinstrumentationforperformanceverification.Thistalkwillgiveabriefintroductionofsomerecentproposednonlinearactivetransistor-levelandsystem-levelbehavioralmodels,likeX-parameters,PADEmodel,Double-InputDouble-Outputmodelandsoon.Applicationexamplesofthemodelsthatareusedtohelpdesigningandcharacterizationofnonlinearcircuitwillbepresented.Thetalkisaimtobringtherecenteffortsthathavemadetounderstand,model,predict,andmeasurethenonlinearityintheRFandmicrowavecircuitstoRFresearchers,andtoattractresearcherstopursuefurtherstudiesonthisscientificallyexcitingtopic.

 

About Speaker

Jialin Cai (S’10 -M’15) was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China in 1984. He received the B.E. degree and M.E. degree both in Electronic Engineering, from Zhejiang University in 2007 and Southeast University in 2010, respectively, and received the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, Ireland, in 2014.Currently he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Telecommunications, University of Aveiro, Portugal. His main research interests include high power nonlinear device and system behavioral modeling. He is also interested in power amplifier and frequency multiplier design.

He has served as a reviewer for IEEE MTT Transactions, IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies, and APMC2015.
