This seminar introduces the PASS tool developed during his postdoc in NUS. This tool provides a seamless simulation environment using ADS Ptolemy, MATLAB and ADS envelope simulator. It considers strong mutual coupling between antenna elements in active phased array system design. Thanks to ADS, it also provides advanced analysis such as yield analysis and null depth variation due to practical imperfections of the RF circuits in the array design. Examples are provided.  


About Speaker

Dr. Tang obtained his Bachelor from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2006, and PhD from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2011. After thesis submission, he spent three more years in NUS as a post-doc. During his post-doc, he was involved in several phased array projects co-proposed with U.S. and France and helped to get over 3.5 million SGD research funds with his supervisor: Prof. Koen Mouthaan. Since 2013, he is with Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) Singapore where he is now focusing on phased array for satellite communications.
